THE CAVADEE

This is an observational portrait of Rajah, a British-Mauritian, who has the honour of leading the annual Chithirai Cavadee at the Murugan Temple in North London.

The Cavadee is a Hindu festival, of South India origin, in which devotees worship the deity Lord Murugan and celebrate in his victory over darkness.
